This is awesome! I can't wait to use the meal planner. However, I am confused as to if I should buy this now or wait for the Deluxe upgrade. I read the Q&A but I still cannot understand the difference.

There is no requirement to upgrade to Deluxe, not unless you want all of the add-on components. MacGourmet will continue to be developed as it always has (and there has been no upgrade charge thus far), Deluxe is more of a bundle-for-retail that includes everything.
If you want just Mealplan, you can take that route now, or if you want everything, you can wait for Deluxe. Either way the upgrade will be $9.95.
I understand that there are no requirements to have Deluxe. However, I know that deluxe includes unspecified plug-ins. What plug-ins will be included with it? I already own Nutrition. Therefore, the Deluxe upgrade and the cost of Meal Plan are the same ($9.95). However, if Deluxe will include more plug-ins than the current two, then waiting for Deluxe would be a better option.
Am I thinking right?
Very excited about the blogging feature. A nice alternative to a method that you and I had discussed quite a while back. Congrats on the release and extensive coverage.
@joseph, There will be an additional plug-in, details to be revealed later this week...
So, if you're on the fence, you might want to wait.
@pedro, Yeah it's a better solution ultimately. Daniel has this stuff down cold in MarsEdit, and I've just been having a problem keeping up with the blog servers and their changes, for something that is sort of a side line in MacGourmet.
Michael, thanks very much for the MacGourmet update. This software just keeps getting better.
While I grabbed the new copy of Nutrition yesterday, I somehow managed to miss Mealplan altogether. (Don't ask...blond moment).
I'm getting a copy now and look forward to using it.
Very nice update. this software just keeps getting better and better. However, I can't figure out how to get the MarsEdit posting to work and I can't seem to find any documentation of this feature either. Would really appreciate some advice of how to get this to work.
@apa, you can send email to support (by just using Send Feedback in the Help menu) and I can help with any trouble you are having.
Call me crazy, but why not just release these plugins as MacGourmet 3 and charge for an upgrade?
The plugins seem to make it confusing.
I've covered why I am trying to do things this way here: On Simplification and Adding New Features.
Additionally, Deluxe will simplify things for those that want things simpler.
