Do MacGourmet Users Want a Widescreen Mode?

I play around a lot with prototypes of new ideas, and variations on themes to find new ways to improve my products. One of my most recent tests was to see how difficult it would be to add an optional "widescreen" mode to MacGourmet. Now, remember, this isn't necessarily going to be added, and what I've done so far is only a rough prototype with no polish, but is there interest in having a mode like this in MacGourmet? With widescreens so prevalent now, every new Apple display is a widescreen for instance, understandably people seem to want to use the extra horizontal space. Do you want this added as a new option? Post your thoughts or send an email message to me at macgourmet [at] advenio.com and if I get enough positive responses I may move forward with it for a future update.

I sure do. Widescreen mode is so much better than horizontal. You can browse through your recipes more efficiently and always display the full recipe instead of having to scroll up or down. Please implement that feature!

It looks good and easy to view files...like a Finder window. I'm still on an iBook G4, so it's not a high priority for me, but I do like it.

Menu planner feature anytime soon? Next version? :)

Thanks for the great product.

Agreed. It really would make reading recipes on the MacBook a much more enjoyable experience. Might even help me to print out less.

Nice screen shot! I have a 17" MacBook Pro, and would definitely use that feature if it were available.

Would be great for those with widescreeens, but I'm on an iBook G4 and that mode would be more than frustrating.

So I guess the key word here is "option".

Just to answer a couple of questions/comments:

"Menu planner feature anytime soon? Next version? "

Menu planning is a much bigger feature than this change would be, but it will be one of the next major changes to come along. No comment on when yet.

"Would be great for those with widescreeens, but I'm on an iBook G4 and that mode would be more than frustrating."

Widescreen would only be an option. The application would still be usable the same way it is now unless you chose widescreen.

Thanks for the comments so far. Keep 'em comin'!
