Have You Visited MacGourmet.com's Recipe Swap?

MacGourmet.com has a great area available called Recipe Swap. You can find the link to it in the menu bar at the top of the page.

In case you don't know, Recipe Swap is a great place to find recipes posted by other MacGourmet users, to post your own recipes, and talk with other MacGourmet users about food, cooking, etc. Recipes are in MacGourmet formatted files and are easy to download.

Recipe Swap features a section for exchanging recipes in general, for exchanging recipes from your favorite cookbooks, and another section for sharing recipes from your favorite cooking TV shows. You can also talk about anything cooking related in the Cooking Talk and Kitchen Gear sections. If you haven't visited, stop by and check it out!

Looking for Import-Export (Version 2.1) Testers

Version 2.1 is largely done, and I'd like to have some "external" eyes look at some of the new functionality. This release revolves around import and exporting recipes, so I'd be interested in getting some kind souls to test some of the changes and new features. I'm looking specifically for people who fit either of the following sets of criteria:

You need to import data into MacGourmet from CookWare Deluxe, Cook'n, Yum, or RecipeML files.

and/or

You are a frequent web clipper from any of the following web sites: FoodNetwork, Epicurious, AllRecipes, Williams-Sonoma, Yahoo Food.

If you are interested, just use the "Send Feedback" menu item in the MacGourmet Help menu or use this link: macgourmet [at] advenio.com, to send an email message asking to be added as a tester.

Don't Forget: MacGourmet "Upgrade" Pack Deals

Just a reminder, MacGourmet 2 was a free upgrade, but you can still take advantage of these special voluntary upgrades if you'd like.

You can still get bonus recipe, display and .Mac template packs for a $10 "upgrade charge." or you can get all of the above and a really cool "Cook Without a Book" MacGourmet t-shirt (seen at the right) for a $15 "upgrade charge," AND a 25% off coupon you can give to a friend so that they can get their own cheaper copy of MacGourmet, or that you can save and use later...

All of the details and a preview of the included themes can be found on the Upgrade Package page.

The New, Different MacGourmet Blog

Greetings!

You may have noticed some big changes here today. MacGourmet.com is now the product site, and what was MacGourmet.com has moved to the weblog on the site. Why the changes? Well I wanted macgourmet.com to be more product focused and less a general site. This means there won't be much for ads any more, but other than that, things should be mostly the same. I'll still be posting recipes and recipe packs here, and some gadget news, etc. but this will be the place for all of your MacGourmet related news.

I'm still in the process of adding some things back to the new design, so hang tight for items like the RSS headlines from news sites, etc.

So what does the new MacGourmet site offer? Check out the recipe packs, display and publishing themes pages. The recipe packs page has a handful of free recipe collections you can download. The display and publishing theme pages offer additional themes for your recipe box and .Mac websites. Just click on the thumbnails to see what they look like.

You can also view MacGourmet screencasts for video tips and instruction in the screencasts section.

The new MacGourmet.com. Enjoy!
